here is what I don't really understand and it is rather confusing. Some fans are saying that the Gnonto is rubbish. Marsch said not ready for the premiership neglected by Gracia and Allardyce. played 24 games and only scored 2 goals.

If he is so rubbish why are we asking 35 million for him?

Always the case when a player is being judged by potential rather than having proved they can do it. If spotting talent and guaranteeing that player would make it was easy then even Orta might have been able to do a good job. So at the moment it is likely he isn't as sh*t as some make out, or judge by his actual playing record, and he may never hit the heights that some think he might.

Everton are in no position to take advantage of anyone's financial position.

They are absolutely screwed financially as the article the other day showed.

I'm no Harrison fan but statistically Gnonto isn't better chap, Harrison creates more chances per game, has a better goal and assist per game ratio in the Premier League as well.

Gnonto will cost more than Harrison because of his age and potential not his current ability.

Clubs want the players Leicester have because they are better players same as Southampton.

Gnonto is wanted by Everton not a top club for the same reason Bournemouth got Adams, top clubs aren't convinced by them.

But we are entitled to price Gnonto as we see fit and based on market value.

Everton don't have to like it neither do you, but clubs use other players as a metric for how they value their own players.

We will be doing that with Gnonto.

Question for you cjay: Given Gnonto is currently not fulfilling the terms of his contract (i.e. refusing to play football!) and the manager has told him not to come close to his squad - will Leeds still be paying him his full wages

He is clearly an emerging talent, who will be worth significantly more in 3 years than he is now. But as it stands in 3 years he will still be contracted to Leeds United. So why should we sell him at today’s minimum valuation?

He doesn’t subscribe to the side before self mantra, so he shouldn’t be at Leeds, and can f*** off whenever he likes.

But Leeds have the right, legally and morally, to make the very most out of his transfer.

Gnonto v Harrison: No comparison. Harrison was much more valuable to Leeds last season. Pretty much undroppable. Gnonto was left out many times.

Bournemouth can't be downplayed any more. We thought it was a joke when they were chasing Bielsa. But they're making some great moves. Seems like they have good ownership and backing. They might not have the facilities or the support. But they're showing themselves to be a very progressive, forward thinking club.

I agree Andrew - both on Harrison and on Bournemouth.
I know lots of people complained about Jack, but to me he was a valuable player for us - and he kept his head down last year - in fact there were a few games when he was one of the few shining lights. I hope to see him in a Leeds shirt again.

Bournemouth clearly have a vision and everyone (ownership and management) is onside with that direction. You don't need the most glitzy stadium and facilities - you just need to have a plan and the discipline to stick with it.

With benefit of hindsight, the real failings of our previous ownership and his minions was lack of a solid plan. Pretty clear it was seat of the pants stuff, and just chase the next shiny object.

I've said it before, I'm sort of glad the 49ers haven't done the bull in a chinashop thing. Frustrating short-term for us fans, but as they say, you should always listen before you talk. Rebuilding our club is going to be a marathon not a sprint.

That sort of money must be virtually impossible to ignore, particularly as they get older and want a couple of years on mega money. Nothing seemed to come of the Cooper one, not yet anyway.

Think this is a bit unfair. Fans would be complaining if players weren't "giving 100%" or were too slow etc so you can't then expect them to play when injured.

All professional athletes get injured. In every sport. Some seem more susceptible than others but, ultimately, forcing your body to do what they do week-in, week-out is incredibly tough on joints, muscles, tendons etc.

Bamford gets a lot of stick on here for being made from biscuits and I get that it's frustrating. But it must be incredibly depressing for him too - and unless he can stay fit and get a decent run of games he won't hit the sort of form that a) helped get us promoted and b) got us to 9th in the premiership. He'd do the same again this year once fit, I'm sure of it.

Not one of these players WANTS to be injured or not playing. You think Dallas wanted a broken femur? Or Beradi wanted a ACL injury? Yes they get paid huge amounts while still injured but that's the nature of the modern game. If you aren't 95%+ fit you won't play well and the difference between winning and losing is often in those small margins.
