Perri/Okafor and Longstaff is looking like 50M ish wasted

Perri still better than Darlow but that's like saying Andy Robinson was better than Brolin

Think that's a bit unfair on longstaff.... Looked the bright spark in farkes all out attack balls to the wall formation. Think he'll do well in this more pragmatic style of play. Like Aarronsson doesn't stop running.

Difficult to comprehend how we concede goals with all eleven men in our box, with no challenges, blocks, tackles made to stop the Newcastle attack.

Too many cooks spoil the broth..... Tbf to Perri the bodies in front of him for the winner couldn't see it til late but would have expected him to catch it before then.

I dont think you can overanalyse a game like that. it was just one of those games where both teams spark off each other and tactics go out the window. What we can say is we gave as good as we got and we certainly don’t look like a team queuing up to be relegated.

Farke has a job on his hands now after that.
Good run turns in to a bad one over defeats like that.
If people want to blame him thats fine but then what was Aaronson doing for the pen. And everyone gave up on the ball at the corner flag that Miley(?) kept in.
That led to a goal.

If you dig into it probably can point to errors on many parts.

Bad decisions, bad play, bad moments etc.

On the other hand the good as well.

How we react is what matters now.

Losing the lead 3 times and vs Manure is a concern.

MOD pundits seem to think that it was a soft penalty against us. Aaronson couldn't do much else. Farke obviously angry about it.

The ref did play quite a role - 2 further minutes out of nowhere....

Perri has numerous chances to slow the game down and keep possesion with us but no let's punch the ball instead of catchig it or fail to comunicate with our defender preventing the ball going out for a corner hes a liability some of the tme just like the other 2

On farke for me.... Fell apart after the sub's. Either defend the f**k out of it or keep the same team on.

Taking DCL off on 86 mins caused this for me.... An extra 10 minutes I can't see making a huge difference in this game when there was an opportunity to win. Odd game with the extra 10 can't hurt.

Was stach injured? Again...... Why bring him off with his height.... Knackered, sure.... As their midfielders were able to play on and were also knackered. Bring on a winger centrally.... cut us to pieces after.

We looked shoddy against manu when we took players off.

Great game but that's a needless punch in the dick.

I sensed our fate was on the cards, but as soon as Calvert-Lewin, Aaronson, Rodon, Stach & Gruev were subbed for our midgets & weaker players, we were done!

Btw, Calvert-Lewin is so useful at our opponent's set-pieces, he made three defensive headers (one off the line). So disappointed when he was subbed with still 15 minutes to go!

I hate Longstaff always have. I can't change my spots. Be a bit like becoming a fan of McGinn, if we bought him I'd hate him too

Plus he's generally been s**t, cancels out Stach and our good run started with his injury, he's the 6th best centre mid at the club. cost 15M

Thought it for a while tbh... I thinjk the likes of Jennings and Clemence would struggle these days... Premier league wants goals and they're happy to let obstruction, pushing, holding etc happen. In the 70's keepers got free kicks for those...

That was a mental game, and we lost as didn't control it well enough once we had lead on 80 mins. some fantastic points (like
Aaronson being really good!
Stach being dyanamic
Gruev passing in the 2nd half
Justin and Gudmonsson being strong.

How good is Justin?

Mate, we lost, but you’ve missed an absolute classic.

Worry number 1. For a team full of confidence, the way we turn to jelly after we’ve scored.
Worry number 2. The late, late goals where we throw away points. Fulham, Bournemouth, now Newcastle. There are probably more examples.
Worry number 3. Substitutions. We have points in the bag, so DF puts on attackers.
Worry number 4. Substitutions again. 95 minutes is when we change tired legs. These guys have played a quarter of the season in just six weeks. Brendan wasn’t even running on fumes, he had used those up already.

The kudos DF won in December has just lost some of its gloss, for me.
