I said late, I'm not playing your game of drawing lines around the argument.
Chelsea concede late goals.
Is that their managers fault.
Yes or No?

Exactly. As that AI answer I received mentioned ;White Riot wrote: ↑Sat Feb 21, 2026 8:16 pm That's not just Farke Cjay.
If you remember back a while there was a group think that anyone questioning Bielsa was a heretic![]()
And yet with Marsch the reverse was true, any positivity was a recipe for being burned at the stake![]()
Smudger started that famous thread about positivity vs negativity, which created so much attrition that the thread was shut down.
It's kind of an oversimplified approach where rather than imagining a topic as being multifaceted and complex it's easier just to condense and label perspectives as being right, or wrong, which then obliterates any debate immediately.
I think it's better if we can just consider the differing opinions, and perspectives of others in a civilized manner.
But that should not exclude humour.
" Cognitive Shortcuts: The term acts as a "one-size-fits-all" retort that allows someone to win an argument without having to counter specific points. It simplifies a complex debate into a binary of "supportive friends" vs "irrational enemies."

Real fans should be prepared to donate their season tickets to other real fans to evidence their fanaticism as being genuine

Re: Aston Villa v Leeds United Match Thread
" The "them and us" phenomenon, known in psychology as ingroup bias or tribalism, is a fundamental aspect of human cognition rooted in evolution, social identity, and brain chemistry. It is the tendency to divide the social world into "us" (the group we belong to) and "them" (everyone else), often favoring our own group while holding negative views or suspicion toward the other.
This mental framework happens for several interconnected reasons:
Evolutionary Survival Mechanism
Safety in Numbers: Throughout human history, living in small, cohesive groups was necessary for survival, providing protection against predators and rival groups.
Resource Management: Ingroup bias helped ensure that resources (food, shelter) stayed within the tribe.
"Negativity Bias": The brain evolved to prioritize threats. Consequently, we are wired to quickly categorize people—within milliseconds—as friend or foe to protect ourselves. "

Isn't that what you are doing?
What do you consider late? Has to be a benchmark for late.
From minute 60 we've conceded 22 goals Chelsea 14.
Only us and West Ham have conceded over 30 goals in the second half.
What's your point?

I think the player simply get tired and we don't have the quality on the bench to replace them.1964white wrote: ↑Sat Feb 21, 2026 6:25 pm We always look like conceding in the final minutes.
Losing markers at the back post.
Our defenders not winning the second ball, generally stood around ball-watching.
Crosses constantly flying across our box from both flanks,
Rash clearances.
Concede possession due to poor panicky passes.
Mis-tackles.
Giving silly fouls away, inviting more pressure.
All parts of our game that leads inevitably to so many goals, unfortunately.
Clean sheets are few & far between, due to the reasons above.

Re: Aston Villa v Leeds United Match Thread
How many late goals have we conceded in matches where we were already behind at that point of the game?
We have only conceded 3 goals after the 70 minute mark in games where we were already behind - and 2 of those were aginst Arsenal.

Factually wrong there Jaydog. It would be cidre if the cider was french, the nationality of the drinker would make no difference.

The intensity we play with has to drop off at the end of games.the squirrel wrote: ↑Sat Feb 21, 2026 9:19 pm I think the player simply get tired and we don't have the quality on the bench to replace them.
Aaronson looked shattered when being substituted. Stach was on his hands and knees and Gruev, DCL and Amps were all blowing in the last 15 mins.
We trade hard work and graft to make up for the lack of “quality” as the cliche ridden pundits put it.

Well you won't Jay if you're using decimal measurements. You likely didn't get the Brexit memo that GB has reverted to imperial measurements
Please stop measuring stuff, and referring to stuff in decimal measurements, otherwise you will need to de deported to the EU, or Canada, or somewhere else.
You have been warned
