Carrick Dave wrote: ↑Mon Oct 20, 2025 6:26 pm Fair question, his form has certainly dipped last few games. He has a little unpredictable quality at times that others don’t, so dropping him might be a risk, but he needs to offer more consistency to be guaranteed a start.

Like a few others he might benefit from the kick up the ass that a benching brings.

Harsh, maybe.
Said in the match thread that the free kick was a chance to redeem himself as his production was severely lacking on that match. As all three midfielders had an off day, I think Tanaka’s time is overdue.

It was just the nature of the game, they packed midfield had a low block to catch us on the counter. Hence why we were just banging into the box having worked the ball out wide. The problem is that Harrison, BA and to a certain degree Bogle provided really poor crosses 90% of the time.

Anton Stach back to his best vs Chelsea.

Heavily involved offensively & defensively.

Three fantastic crosses, one assist for Bijol's goal.

Three shots blocked

Got stuck in with four tackles.

Defensive headers/clearances, interceptions, passes, runs, blocks in the 20 excellent moments of his game.

Needs Longstaff to not be on the pitch...

Give over.

We get it you don’t like him, but he will have his part to play this season.

Another fine display from Anton vs Manure.

Aerially very strong in the middle of the park.

Best moment - Sublime cross for Calvert-Lewin's near miss.

8 aerial duals won.
6 telling passes.
3 forward runs.
3 interceptions.
2 decent crosses.
2 tackles.
1 defensive block.

Suggests Stach put in a good shift.

Doesn't sound like Stach should expect a call from the German national team boss

Thankfully our German manager is a better assessor of talent.

Ligament injury.

Similar to Rodon hasn't been assessed yet

Hope he's not out too long. Liked that starting midfield today.

Sat there in a protective boot, and using crutches, didn’t look good to me.

As someone who's had over 100 foot and knee injuries, trust me not putting weight on it from the outset is a good idea. Hopefully not season ending and just a cautionary boot and crutches..

If he was out for the season I'd feel the cup semi final wasn't worth the risk. Same with Rodon.

How about we lose at West Ham then Rodon and Stach get injured at Manure ?
