Re: Rodrigo Moreno-Covid positive- Get well soon Rodders
Rodrigo was starting to become a big part of how we play and brought a lot of extra class. He's got the pace that Pablo lacks now. I still think Pablo has a huge role to play but off the bench (or as injury cover). Rodrigo does what we need. He turns defence to attack really quickly. Bring Pablo on for the last 30 minutes or 2nd half depending on the match situation.
Next game has to have Rodrigo, Raphinha, and Bamford all starting. Harrison on the other wing, with Costa, Poveda, and Hernadez all options off the bench.

Given what I have seen in his appearances so far Raphina is a must..imo Bamford (ergo the team) will greatly benefit from this, and Rodrigo goes without saying when fit... Like you Andrew I have championed from the start of the season Pablo as the impact player of the bench ....andrewjohnsmith wrote: ↑Sun Nov 08, 2020 6:16 pm Rodrigo was starting to become a big part of how we play and brought a lot of extra class. It would be interesting to know how many of Paddy’s goals have come from Klich assists rather than wingers crossing from wide - anybody got that info?

Don't know that mate ... but this stands up pretty well...whoever is feeding him keep it up!... I think Raphina will be the big key going forward...Carrick Dave wrote: ↑Sun Nov 08, 2020 6:36 pm It would be interesting to know how many of Paddy’s goals have come from Klich assists rather than wingers crossing from wide - anybody got that info?
[Patrick Bamford is a Forward who has appeared in 8 matches this season in Premier League, playing a total of 672 minutes. Patrick Bamford scores an average of 0.94 goals for every 90 minutes that he's on the pitch. This attacking performance currently places him at 5th out of 248 for Premier League Players who've played at least 3 matches./quote]

Thanks Faaip. So, 4 from wingers and 5 from wing-backs out of 20, two from Costa. I had an idea that the Klich percentage would be higher.
In any case, it doesn’t look like a change at right wing will make a huge difference to his hit rate?

Sure it does mate ...if Raphina is to be right wing as all the specualtion indicates his final delivery is way better than Harrisons, or Costa at the moment...I dont see how Paddy cannot benefit...Carrick Dave wrote: ↑Sun Nov 08, 2020 7:34 pm Thanks Faaip. No, I don’t agree - he seems to thrive on through balls and short balls to feet rather than crosses from the wingers, as the numbers testify. Even if Raph provided twice as much as Costa it’s an extra 2 goals in 15 months or thereabouts.Smudge3920 wrote: ↑Sun Nov 08, 2020 7:38 pm Sure it does mate ...if Raphina is to be right wing as all the specualtion indicates his final delivery is way better than Harrisons, or Costa at the moment...I dont see how Paddy cannot benefit...

I agree he is better with the ball at his feet, but Raphina plays lots of long through balls from deep (Brazillian style)... does not always rely on getting down the wing, in fact more often than not so far I see he cuts in and goes diagonal (again Brazillian style)... whichever way it goes, I still believe Raphina will be a boost for Paddy, which can only be a good thing the way Paddy is playing.Carrick Dave wrote: ↑Sun Nov 08, 2020 8:54 pm No, I don’t agree - he seems to thrive on through balls and short balls to feet rather than crosses from the wingers, as the numbers testify. Re: Rodrigo Moreno-Covid positive- Get well soon Rodders
If his assists come diagonally through the channel, he’s essentially replacing the Klich contribution rather than crossing from the wing. My point is that I can’t remember the last time Paddy scored off a centre from the winger (Harrison or Costa), especially with a header, and even if Raph improves the wide right delivery he still won’t.Smudge3920 wrote: ↑Sun Nov 08, 2020 9:04 pm I agree he is better with the ball at his feet, but Raphina plays lots of long through balls from deep... does not always rely on getting down the wing, in fact more often than not so far I see he cuts in and goes diagonal... whichever way it goes, I still believe Raphina will be a boost for Paddy, which can only be a good thing the way Paddy is playing.

Well he would be adding to it not taking it away from Klich, and he has scored with his head twice this year...ok one head one nose... thats approx 20% of his tally.Carrick Dave wrote: ↑Sun Nov 08, 2020 9:11 pm If his assists come diagonally through the channel, he’s essentially replacing the Klich contribution rather than crossing from the wing. Don’t get me wrong, if Paddy gets a bucketful from Raph crosses I’ll be delighted. It’s been good to see him step up and surprise everyone in the season so far.
