Spurs rate him so much, they want to 'try before you buy',
Hardly overwhelming evidence he's rated by many.
Played 50 times over two seasons is a long way from hardly getting into their team.
That included a Europa Cup Final too.

He was only available when Ronaldo was signed.

I'm not a fan of his but it doesn't take 5 minutes to do some basic fact checking...

Bielsa also rated Dallas, Ayling, Phillips, KP and Klich.

Leeds signed Roberts before MB got there
James had a long run as first choice for Scum
Everton and Spurs have deep pockets and could go after many players. They want James. Don;t be naive. Bielsa and the scouts at Scum, Spurs, and Everton are smarter than you

Not sure of the relevance ,re Ayling etc ?.
My point was , in rating Roberts ,it didn't make MB infallible .

I recall Cjay saying how huge it was when Bielsa appeared to criticise Roberts in a post match interview with Cjay saying he had never previously done that. I don't think it was a case of Bielsa rating Roberts as such but him being the best of what little he had to work with - the only realistic choice ahead of Roberts would be Gelhardt but I get the impression they were having to really nurse Gelhardt due to back problems. The other options then available were the youth players who Bielsa thought weren't quite ready. In saying Bielsa rated Roberts it is worth noting that Bielsa preferred to play Dan James as the striker ahead of Roberts.

I can't understand what benefit for us there is to a loan with an option to buy?

A sale to fund a new player I'd understand, wouldn't agree with it as its pathetic after 3 years in the Prem to be operating like that.

But this I don't.

Should be a simple "pay up or f**k off". We shouldn't be helping or doing a favour for rival clubs, especially one of the greedy 6.

Only way a loan works for me is if we can bring in another attacker.

Even Hwang on loan until the WC would work for me at this point.

Effectively swapping James for Hwang would seem a bit pointless?

Wolves fans talk about him like we did Tyler Roberts.

Also hardly fits the Kinnear chat yesterday of only buying exceptional players?

Perhaps,

Hwang was superb when he first joined Wolves. I think he would improve us but yeah it is a conundrum.

I saw a good bit of him.

if you have time watch his double from last season.

Just what we could do with

If he could do that then, he can do that now! 2 footed and a finisher. Just cos he's gash at Wolves does not mean he will be bad here. Great finishes those 2 goals...

ESPN reporting that we are demanding £20mil for Dan James.

Fulham and Spurs interested.

Would seem odd given that is selling at a loss.

Decent finishes tbf but few and far between really since joining Wolves.

His goal contribution rate at Premier League level is just over 1 in 3 (every 280mins roughly).

I realise Wolves play dire football but not sure he has justified us offering them a profit on him.

Certainly wouldn't go above the £18mil we have had rejected.

Concern is his Premier League record isn't great, he totally flopped at Leipzig with 1 assist in like 5 matches and Wolves fans really really don't rate him and always concerns me when fans are THAT desperate to get rid of a player

It really is Tyler Roberts level of desperate.

Had a bright start and then sod all really for a long time.

4 in 6 at first now 1 goal and 2 assists in 28 Premier League games.

I'd prefer someone else but we definitely need someone.

Wouldn't be swapping James for Hwang though.

Seems counterproductive.

Pushing James out for Hwang would be poor.

Treating James quite poorly tbh.

Why do we need to let James go to get the attacker Marsch said he wanted all summer?
