I can't remember when there were two Yorkshire clubs in the top four of the Premier/First Division. It could go back 100 years. Well done Hull & Leeds.

Discussing a goal conceded is just as valid as discussing goals scored and overall performance. Just look at DF last night, he was apoplectic we conceded to the point where he held players on the pitch to draw attention to it.
I don't think anyone was attempting to de-value the performance last night by mentioning their late goal, it was more disappointment that we didn't keep a clean sheet.

I am not suggesting that anyone devalued the result.Chilli D wrote: ↑Tue Sep 15, 2026 8:11 am Discussing a goal conceded is just as valid as discussing goals scored and overall performance. But negatives do tend to create a feeding frenzy. Horses for courses - I prefer to concentrate on the positives unless we are woeful.

I haven’t the nerve to be a gambler but I got a bonus at work & really fancied us for that game so stuck £100 on it, never broke a sweat.

Why was Farke?Carrick Dave wrote: ↑Mon Sep 14, 2026 10:30 pm Academic anyway, Farke and the fans would have preferred a GD bonus of 4, we got 3, we’re third after 4 games.
Why are we focused on the goal conceded?

Stach is a more defensive midfielder. He does a lot of the dirty work in the middle of the field even when he's further forward. He's an 8 playing with 2 4's.marie67 wrote: ↑Mon Sep 14, 2026 11:04 pm We did start with 3 midfield players but i think Tanaka and Ampadu were playing as a 2 in central midfield and Stach was playing more advanced on the right side of midfield. When Tanaka went off Stach moved more centrally to replace Tanaka and Wilson although a more attacking playing generally played on the right side pretty much where Stach had been playing.
So I don't think the formation really changed, just the type of players.
We do get weaker when we play two 10's or 2 wingers when in a 5 man defence. Aaronson and wilson are Hybrid 10's/wingers

£20m is not a lot in modern day football. The Subhuman wrote: ↑Tue Sep 15, 2026 9:41 am 100k plus salary, 4 years was it ? Upward of 20M plus bonuses
The likes of Calvert-Lewin, Ampadu, Justin, Bogle, Tanaka have been bargain buys.
None of them cost a fee over £10m

3 of those were signed in the championship so you'd expect them much cheaper. 100k plus salary at our level is starter money and he's not.
In 3/4 years 15-20M for a back up is acceptable but not so good when establishing yourself on limited funds second season up
