Well DCL certainly put a shift in and got a goal BUT his ball control, passing ability, hold up play and heading is at times shockingly ordinary. This can't now be just because he is not at, or approaching, full fitness. Seems to have a lot of rough edges - perhaps we have to accept that as it is,He's our player and he's in the side but I have to say I'm not terribly convinced.

The formation used in the last couple of games suits the team and the player. It'll be interesting to see if that is the way the team will be set up in all of the matches going forward or if DF will tinker with the line ups match to match

He just like marcus rashford, historically has his purple patches where everything he touches turns to gold for several games..
then he goes back to being him

Fans were quick to slate him, but I like him, a proper No.9. Real hard worker, holds the ball up well and flicks it on, creating a lot of chances. He's a poacher; and the goals, he's earned.

Was impressed with his work rate vs Man City and felt he worked well vs Chelsea with Nmecha

Green shoots of improvement I suppose

But the Chelsea goal was made by the work of Okafor (DCL right place I suppose) and a pen earned by someone else vs Liverpool

Without the pen imo he was one of the worst players on the pitch.

Van Dijk absolutely bossed him, DCL barely won a header and lost the most duels on the pitch which given thats apparently his biggest strength isn't great.

Bit if a flat-track bully imo, does fine against players he should, struggles against players more his physical equal.

He did work hard though and tbf we wouldn't have the appoints last week without him one way or another.

He's done OK imo, nothing more nothing less.

Much prefer him in a front 2 though myself, don't think his overall game is good enough alone.

He's kind of the only game in town, almost, for us so he will have to do this season. Somehow he has managed to get the ball in the net so good on him.

However, if we have ambitions in the longer term we have to be aiming higher quality than DCL TBH. We've had, in the past, the likes of Yeboah and Viduka wearing that shirt................

I am not a fan of dcl but he does put his self about ,he skittled in to 3 liverpool players even though he had no chance of connecting and this gave tanaka a little more time to get his shot away for the last goal.
What worries me is the lack of quality up top ,so Hurrah we got 4 points from 3 tough games .This does not mean we have the ability to open up teams that sit back more.

Van Dijk is the best CB in the Premier League, he is so dominant defensively & offensively, his main strength is aerially, such a same Nmecha was unavailable to compete against their clown CB Konate.

I was one of only two members who chose Van Dijk as one Liverpool player I would love to see play in the white shirt of Leeds. His performance was proof, & the reason why I selected the Dutchman as one of my three.

Strikers are hard to find, especially at a fee within our budget.

Thank god we didn't waste £40m on Fulham's Rodrigo Muniz, one goal in seven appearances, and now he is out injured for much of this season.

You are very undermining of some of our squad, Cjay.

Without Calvert-Lewin & Nmecha, we wouldn't have achieved four wins by now.

I said we wouldn't have the points we had last week.

Just don't go ott.

Of the two I prefer Nmecha.

Think DCL has done OK, I certainly don't think he played well vs Liverpool though for example.

However I do think in a front 2 with the right style he does a job.

Players, manager, recruitment team, 49ers, Doris the Thorp Arch muffin lady are all part of what Cjay dislikes about the club he loves.

What it does mean is that our forwards are rattling their back line a lot more and they are preventing them from playing out from the back that easily. We are happy for the opposition to be playing the long ball out from the keeper. That press we have utilised far up the pitch is bringing our own back line much more forward than before when they hung about just outside the 18 yard box giving our midfield much more support.

We have what we have in DCL and Nmecha and I think to share the workload Daniel Farke should perm 2 out of 3 by adding Piroe into the mix; I don't understand the lack of proper opportunities that have been offered up to Piroe. Piroe knows how to stick the ball in the net and has not suddenly lost the ability to do just that! Also, playing 2 up front will work in some matches and not so much in others. Obviously

We need a loan deal for a striker in January - one from abroad somewhere most likely.

We have no money and anyway we'd be at the back of the queue for any player with a decent record.

What is within our scope is a Hail Mary punt for a complete unknown who has no experience of playing in England. If the player wants to come to Leeds......... Don't see that happening myself

Best hope is that we can bring on Harry Gray slowly without ruining him
