£10M is about right too.

Anyone reckon we will get any more?

I think that is our lot
Bakwa and Dimirovic will end up at established clubs willing to pay the money (or Sunderland  ), and Uche is away to Wolves by all accounts.

Unless Leeds have something late planned, you might be right.

We really need a prolific striker, because Piroe is proving ineffective against the nous of PL defenders and our alternatives can't be relied IMO.

My pre-season optimism was predicated on us getting the 10 and 9 we needed before Sept 1st, if that doesn't happen I think we struggle.

I think we have 24 excluding Ramazani, Schmidt, Bamford, Greenwood, Gyabi and Meslier (anyone else?).
So room for one more although 25 seems too many to me.
Most clubs seem to fill out the squad with younger players and give them a chance to develop but little chance of that other than maybe Harry Gray?

My understanding is that U21s don't count toward the total of 25, so swopping Mahady in for Cairns would allow us room for two more.

That's right as far as i know but you're going to have a few underemployed plus a congested route to the first team for under 21s.
Although that's probably a symptom of there not being many under 21 prospects.

Bad error from Mahady on Sunday ....

I do wonder if some of the players we’ve brought in are based on the following reasons:

Had they not been, for want of a better phrase “injury prone” they would obviously cost far more than we are paying in fees or wages.

Because of this are we basing it on percentages?
ie if each player manages to play a third of a season (roughly 13 games each) without injury and we stay up then that is seen as a success and we also have them, if good enough, for the following season ?

A bench fb (when Farke doesn't even use the squad anyway) is an unnecessary waste of money, when we're sorely lacking in creativity. Looks like we won't even use the loan market, which is ridiculous.

Whilst a creative player is the priority I don't think this prevents that (if we can actually find someone!). We are going to have to rely more on our defence this year as we will not have the possession so having some decent cover is essential and I think he fits the bill. Our starting line up at Christmas may be bit different than the first 2 games.

But we don't play defensive football (well under the current manager, but may change soon). If we're going to play out from the back, we need to score goals and we've created next to nothing from open play so far.

So - The fee hasn't been disclosed, so you can make up any price you want, i'll say £5m, plus add on's if we win the World club cup and Champions league, no arguing now anymore over this that's final.

Apparently the Leicester fans can't work out that JJ couldn't play when they sold all their best players like Tielemans and the rest of their best left the club, he was fantastic when they were there, but a complete tommy tonker moron when he was on his own after they left him trying to prop up the team.

In short - He was good in a decent team, terrible in a bad one.
So i popped in and posted - 'Mo Salah would be terrible in your current team, bye'

Some of his injuries were Bamford related as he knew playing in that shite team was going to ruin his cv.

Yeah just read it on the bbc BB.

What i would say now is that Farke has been backed, probably 1 attacking option to be added, but he's the one that is letting Largie go.
So i'd say he's been backed and can't complain now, it is down to him from here on. If results do go bad there is enough for any new manager to work with.
With just one more, we have a squad that can compete in the lower half of the Premier, and enough to stave off relegation.
This squad should battle it out with the rest of the bottom 6, it is down to him from now on and injuries (lack of).
This is now enough to build on - Best of luck Farke, i think you're going to need it, but we should be ok, fingers are crossed on a few of our players, but i feel he's got enough
No excuses now bar the time he needs to bed them all in and get them playing together, if they all get 100% fit it shouldn't take him long to introduce the newcomers. I'm feeling quietly confident, a tad apprehensive, but feel we'll be ok.
As a season ticket holder BB i hope you have some great games ahead

The concern would be whether it is quantity over quality in the same way we sold Raphinha and KP and bought several players but made the team weaker and the squad at best marginally stronger. Have we spread our money too thinly and would we have been better say spending it on 2 or 3 top quality players instead and hoping that we didn't have an injury crisis at any point.

Sounds good in theory, but many of the real quality players available weren't interested in joining us ....yet!
I dont think it would've made sense to make 2 recruitment for 40m each.

Everyone agreed we don't have enough depth in key positions. We have hired in this window primarily for depth. We aren't at the point where we can hire for depth at top quality. Arsenal and the like have that luxury.

I have watched the scouting reports on every one of our incoming players. Pretty much every player is considered "on profile" for what we need now.

When we signed Solomon, all the "realists" and "experts" here went off thrashing and wailing about Farke, 49ers and the recruiting team needing to be tarred and feathered - he won't play more than 60 minutes then he'll spend 6 weeks injured, what the hell are we doing, blah, blah.

6 months later he was the club hero.

I wonder if we'll see the same thing with players like DCL? If so, of course, the "realists" will say he was bound to get back to form at some stage.

We won't see the full shape and quality of this new squad until well after the first international break.
But apparently some forum members are so skilled they can tell before the squad is even finalized how bad it is.
I dont have that level of skill. I'll just have to rely on old fashioned observation. :-D

That's interesting, but we can't know 100% what their plan was from day 1 of the transfer window opening.
They won't advertise who knocked them back or they lost out on.
2 or 3 quality might not have fancied a relegation scrap if they thought we'd be in one.

It's all speculation stuff, so i'm going off what has actually happened, and where i see us now.
Tbh i've yet to properly see almost all in a competitive Prem game, Bijol etc whom i haven't really got a clue about.

One thing i will say is a good indicator of how Farke is, is this : He doesn't mess around when he knows someone is right.

Now take Gudmundson for example - Straight in, no messing around like with Smidtz. Farke obviously knows Gudmundson is a baller he likes and good to go, a proper fit into the team, exactly what he was looking for at LB, and after EFC and Arsenal i'm quietly confident he's going to be a good buy. I think even most here can see that too. The same goes for Bogle, straight in no messing around.

If he's taking time with some, try and figure out why.

You're absolutely right you know.
And by using Dcl as the example - He's free for gawds sake, if things work out the positives and the 'possible's could be magnificent, if you take a really positive view the lad might even break into the England squad which means he's doing unbelievably well for us!

But yes - Some are already sharpening knives waiting for the fall, it's so miserable, it's like they can't wait for him to do his cruciate in the first game so they can just come on here and go to town with 'I told you so'

Every single person on here can see his past record, but the positive ' what if's'... far outweigh the negative of paying him a wage.

28yo - That's supposed to be prime age for a footballer.

We need someone who can make the difference in tight games, we’re not going to get the possession we’re used to with goals coming from all over the pitch so although we seem to have covered most positions is there anyone in our team ( apart from Stach ) we can look at and say wow what a signing ? I can see one more coming in and a few leaving.
